Golden

Here are some “golden” quotes…

Remember, people will judge you by your actions, not your intentions.  You may have a heart of gold, but so does a hard boiled egg. ~ Author unknown

Don’t miss all the beautiful colors of the rainbow, looking for that pot of gold. ~ Old Irish saying Continue reading

IN PICTURES – Bucharest, a city of charm, character and architectural splendor

Z Executive Boutique Hotel

Z Executive Boutique Hotel

Our final two days in Bucharest we were on our own to explore.  We had moved to the Z Executive Boutique Hotel in the historic section of town.  The rate was reasonable, but the hotel was a little hard to find.  If you do book there, make sure to get directions.  The location is excellent, staff friendly, decent breakfast, WiFi worked and close to public transportation. Prickly

Is it just me, or have you also noticed that people are getting a bit more prickly lately?  I see it on Facebook, in the news, Twitter and in some personal interactions.

Reflection

We spent last week in Illinois with my husband’s family.  His father is nearing the end of his time with us as his cancer has spread, and the Parkinson’s Disease has robbed him of both his mobility and his mental clarity.

Having lost my mother this past January after she too fought a battle with cancer coupled with Alzheimer’s Disease, seeing my father-in-law in this condition was gut-retching painful.  My mother-in-law is providing round-the-clock care that I fear will soon be unsustainable for them both.  My sister and I were my mother’s primary care-givers.  Too many memories, both good and bad came flooding back.
