Fish Market of Negombo

February 1st ~ Morning in Negombo

Fishing boats of Negombo

We had a very early wake up this morning to go to the local fish market. The boats start coming in before six. The best fish are auctioned off to overseas buyers and local hotels/restaurants.

There was a bit of an odor, but not as bad as I had thought it would be. The ground can be slippery in areas.

After seeing the fish market, we returned to our hotel for breakfast and to check out.

GRATITUDE MOMENT: Today I am grateful that I do not need to fish for a living. It is hard work!

Wow! How adventurous, going to a fish market to see how they bring in fish you wouldn’t buy! Cool.

  3. Fishing, like farming, requires you to be out in all sorts of weather and is definitely hard! What a trip you’re having!
