We booked Barracudas Tour to Phi Phi Islands through our hotel. It included pick up at our hotel and being driven from Krabi Town to Ao Nang, a full day from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on the high speed boat going from island to island, buffet lunch, mask, snorkel and life jacket. Our price was 1200 Baht ($38) per person.
Some of the scenery was quite stunning, but the beaches were over crowded which definitely detracted from our day. I’m glad we got to see Phi Phi, however I think going there and spending a few days would have given us a much better impression than trying to see a couple of beaches in such a short amount of time.
Here are my favorite pictures of the day:
We were welcomed back “home” with good news that we could now get the Internet in our room. They upgraded the system earlier today so I can now sit in my room to blog instead of in the hotel lobby.
The shower felt wonderful as we wiggled out of our suits, and washed a layer of sand off of our bodies. The night walking market was once again in full swing.
After dinner we picked out a few small items to sample for our dessert.
We have visited several markets on this trip and so far this has been my favorite. It has a great deal of food carts so we plan on having our dinner here tomorrow night.
Awesome beach pictures – beach as nice as our Ocean Isle beach, but with mountains added!

Randy, it was beautiful to see, but I think the quick day trip did not give us enough time to fully appreciate it. An overnight stay so we could see the beach early in the morning or with a sunset would have been even better.

It brought back reminders for me of my night in a hotel hut on Phi Phi island beach. My hut came complete with a mosquito net to protect me from the critters. One critter was a giant, spotted gecko – the thing was over a foot long, hanging out on the wall above my bed. He was part of the insect control committee, and rather cute. Glad I had the netting.

Penny we have seen quite a few tiny geckos but nothing even close to that big. The little ones are cute and yes, great help with eating insects. Phi Phi was beautiful and I think we would love to overnight there. I want to see it in the early morning or at sunset when the boat tourist crowd has thinned out.
