May 22nd – 24th & 29th ~ Denver, Colorado

On the drive between Grand Junction and Denver
Continuing on from Grand Junction, toward Denver the scenery was stunning. I had no idea how beautiful the state of Colorado is.
Finally, we arrived in Denver to meet up with our travel buddies, Dick and Karen, who had already arrived two days earlier. Their RV was parked in Brad and Tracy’s driveway and left us room to pull in behind them.

Tim and I kind of horned in on family time with Dick and Karen’s three adult children and their families. The first event was the evening we arrived with a karaoke party celebrating Caleb’s (their oldest grandson) high school graduation.

The next day, Dick and Karen gave us a tour of Denver that included a visit to a property they own which has a wonderful location right on the lake. I can see why they love it here.

This was followed up the next evening with a pizza party for Blake (youngest grandson) who turned nine.

In the middle of our time in Denver we did our three-day Memorial Day Weekend at Rocky Mountain National Park. I will be writing a separate post about our time there.
Returning back to Denver, we were hosted to a third Theil family gathering. This time their youngest son, Ricky and his wife, Leah, hosted us to a BBQ that included pork, brisket and tri-tip that he had been smoking for the previous 20 hours. Turned out fantastic!

They have some very well-behaved dogs that I thoroughly enjoyed
GRATITUDE MOMENT: Today I am grateful that we were welcomed into the Theil clan for the past several days. We felt like extended family as we celebrated special milestones and enjoyed great meals. Thank you all for your hospitality!
Looks like you hit the jack pot of travel buddies. It’s always nice to feel like extended family.

Long live printed BOOKS !!
Thank you, Joanne and Tim , for sharing.
All the best to you I can wish !

Mila, we too love books, but this library was in the back of a bar/book/record store, not a private collection.

I’ve never had to do all the hard work that goes into smoking the meat, but sure enjoyed the results.
