Day four of our San Juan Islands adventure continues…
After a very relaxing afternoon the day before where we each found a corner for reading, or taking a nap, we were ready to get out and get a little exercise today.
Arriving in Ganges on a Saturday so that we could attend the local Farmer’s Market to restock our fresh fruits and pick up a few more perishables to take us through the end of the week, we were surprised to learn that our visit also coincided with the local Gay Pride Parade.
Ganges had an interesting combination of characters ranging from Goth to Hippies to Druggies to Women’s Libbers and quite a few that could not be categorized at all. It made for a very entertaining afternoon.
GRATITUDE MOMENT: Today I am grateful that our society is becoming more accepting of all people regardless of their race, religion or sexual preferences. We still have a way to go, but we have certainly made some huge strides toward true equality. My hope is that we will continue to grow, expand our thinking, become more caring and less judgmental.
I, too, am grateful… but still so far to go! Thanks for great photos and post!! 🙂

Even without a parade, Salt Spring is an interesting place. I try and hit the market every year because of their wonderful spice selection and homemade chocolates. Good read!
