Saturday, April 18th (part 2) ~ Pasadena, California After completing our 5K walk to support Autism Speaks, Tim and I along with our dear friends, Laura and Michael headed a short distance to have lunch at California Pizza Kitchen in Pasadena. Our service could not have been any better!
Eating on the nicely shaded outdoor patio, we could not help but admire the setting with the water features, unique metal statuary, stone church with its long tiled wall and beautiful stained glass windows.
The All Saints Episcopal Church current building was built in 1923 and was dedicated in 1924. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
If you are looking for a different setting to take engagement, wedding, Quinceanera, or other special occasion pictures, right across the street from here you can check out the Pasadena City Hall. With a bit of Old World charm, fountains, long corridors, courtyard setting, and great lighting, it holds many opportunities.
“The building was completed in 1927,…and it is a significant architectural example of the City Beautiful movement of the 1920s.” ~ Wikipedia
A long time favorite for the movie industry, it has been used/seen in “A Walk in the Clouds”, “Mission Impossible”, “The Great Dictator”, and “Parks and Recreation”. The dome can be seen through the window of Sheldon and Leonard’s apartment on “The Big Bang Theory”. I’m guessing this place is crazy busy during the week, but on Saturday it was relatively empty.
As with any other photo project, we have a LOT of outtakes. I thought it would be fun to share a few of them along the way. You have got to be able to laugh at yourself, right??? Outtake:
Gratitude Moment: Today I am grateful to find a couple of beautiful buildings locally that remind me of the charm and architecture of Europe.

Thanks for sharing your outtakes! Glad it’s not just me. The last time I attempted to take a selfie, I had about five photographs of my nostril and not much else before I got something useable! The photo of the dome next to the church made me think it’s like a piece of Spain next to a piece of England.

I have been laughing at my outtakes for some time and thought they just may give others a chuckle as well – soooo, I threw vanity out the window. I like your comparison of a piece of Spain next to a piece of England.
