Friday, May 2nd ~ Montenegro
Where to start. The name Montenegro translates to “Black Mountain”, but in reality Montenegro is green, green, green and then more green. It is also stunningly beautiful country that I would put up against many US National Parks.
I think I’m just going to let the pictures speak for themselves today other that to say we visited Biogradska Gora National Park, the Tara River Canyon, the deepest gorges in Europe (second only to the Grand Canyon in the USA), and Durmitor National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can click on the individual links to find out more specific information about any of the sites we visited today.
I hope you enjoy seeing a tiny glimpse of Montenegro.
GRATITUDE MOMENT: Today I am grateful for UNESCO and the World Heritage Sites they are identifying and protecting for future generations to enjoy.
I wish we went to Montenegro too. My friends have been many times and keep telling me how beautiful it is, by looking at your photos I can only agree with them. One of my favorite green place is Scotland with its incredibly nice landscapes but there is another place that we visited on this RTW trip and has stolen my heart, it’s in Malaysia: the endless green tea plantation in Cameron Highland, simply stunning!

We are planning on getting to Scotland later this summer, but I am not familiar with your Malaysian recommendation of Cameron Highland. I will need to look it up. Thank you for the suggestion!
