Sunday April 27th – Munich, Germany
Our river cruise is now officially over. Yesterday was supposed to be spent in Nuremberg, but with the long bus rides and still fighting to get over my cold I chose to take it easy on board our boat.
Today we had a very early morning with wake up at 5:00, bags out at 5:30, breakfast and then loaded on the bus and on our way to the Munich airport by 7:00 am.
We had been planning on spending the day in Munich today and flying out tomorrow. Instead we snagged an inexpensive hotel near the airport (Holiday Inn Express) and are waiting out the rainy weather until we fly tomorrow to Albania.
We have a 12 day tour that takes us from Albania to Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia.
Click here for a link that shows our complete itinerary. We meet up with our tour group on Tuesday evening.
What I am most looking forward to on this itinerary is Plitvice National Park. The pictures I have seen are amazing and I am hoping to capture a few shots myself!
GRATITUDE MOMENT: Today I am grateful for smooth and easy connections. Just as we arrived at the Munich Airport, Tim spotted the bus that would take us to our hotel. With just enough time for a quick bathroom stop, we got on the correct bus and arrived at our hotel a few minutes later.
nice of Tim to share his cold…you’re right…the pics are awesome!!

Ha, Carrie, I love sharing things with my hubbie, but not getting his cold. Thankfully he is pretty much recovered and I think I’m over the worst of it now. I still have all day tomorrow to rest up before we meet up with our next tour group.

Joanne, I’ve added my good friend Steve Rothboeck to your email list at his request. He’ll be taking his 3rd trip to Europe this fall. He and I go back to St. Mary’s days in Medford, but like me he graduated from MSHS in 68. Maybe you know him? Can you fb friend request him too, so he can get blog notices there too? I’ll be very interested in your new trip. My paternal grandparents immigrated thru Ellis Island from Croatia. Take care and be healthy. !, Mike Alesko.

Mike, thank you for connecting me with Steve. My sister is also in Oak Harbor, Wa. I too am very interested in Croatia but for different reasons. I think that the natural beauty will be a high point for me.
