May 3rd ~ Southern Oregon

Logo for Oregon Caves

We parted ways with my sister and her husband after breakfast this morning where they joined us for a sampling of a morel mushroom frittata I had fixed. We did not manage to find many mushrooms this year, but there were at least enough for everyone to have a taste.  Continue reading

Oregon ~ Lake of the Woods to Jacksonville

Mount Pitt aka Mount McLoughlin – (courtesy of Laura Urban)

We enjoyed our time at Howard Prairie, regardless of finding few morel mushrooms. But, it was once again time to pack up and move on toward our next stop. Leaving the Howard Prairie area, we admired a nice view of snow-capped Mt. Pitt (aka Mt. McLoughlin).  Continue reading

Howard Prairie Lake, Southern Oregon

April 30th ~ Howard Prairie Lake, Oregon

Marina at Howard Prairie Lake

I grew up hunting Morel Mushrooms in Southern Oregon. It was the equivalent of an Easter Egg hunt for adults. Morel Mushrooms are unique in appearance, and next to impossible to get them mixed up with a toxic type. They look more like a sea sponge and nothing like a toad stool.  Continue reading

Let’s Go On An Adventure

April 28th and 29th ~ Our two week surprise road trip begins!

Planning a Surprise Trip

Sunday April 22nd ~ San Bernardino Mountains

Although we have had a break from traveling the past two months, we have still stayed busy with doing some needed clean-up, repairs and decluttering at our tiny cabin in the mountains. We have had this much-loved home for nineteen years now and have done almost nothing towards maintenance and updating since then.

It was time!

But, now that project is well underway, the Travel Gods have been rattling their sabers at us, and we are preparing to get back on the road. Continue reading

Iguazu Falls – From the Argentina Side

January 12th

Iguazu River from below the falls

We had both our Intrepid guide and a local guide today for our excursion to see the Argentina side of Iguazu Falls. Both were in agreement that an early start was a necessity in order to beat the crowds. So, up and at em, we were on the road before 7:00.

A quick photo stop in the middle of the bridge that crossed the Iguazu River at the point where you could have one foot in Brazil and the other foot in Argentina.  Continue reading
