It has been a few years since we visited the LA Arboretum and we are due for a return. One of the many things that stood out for me was seeing the peacocks proudly display their brilliant plumage.

This is IMHO a hidden gem in the Southern California area. Another fabulous place for photography, having a family outing complete with picnic, take a nature walk with a docent, visit the sculpture garden, bird watch, ride the tram through the garden if walking distances is a challenge, or sit beside the fountains and soak up some sunshine.
These pictures were from March 2010.
Gratitude Moment: Today I am grateful for long term friendships. On Thursday I have a girlfriend flying in from Arizona to spend a few days with me. We have been friends going on 50 years. Drifting in and out of each others lives over the many years, we have somehow managed to maintain that special bond that allows for long periods of silence. But then magically, when we do get together we can take off as though is was just yesterday when we last celebrated a birthday, cried over a lost classmate, bragged about our children, or simply shared a glass of wine.
