April 11th ~ Driving from Kernville toward Los Angeles

Another wonderful RV road trip was coming to a close. This was a short get-a-way, only one week, but it was a pleasure to witness so many amazing areas vivid with wildflowers.

Our route home from Kernville took us past Lake Isabella and south on Hwy 178. The highlight of this route was seeing the Joshua Trees in full bloom.

And the sky provided unusual lenticular cloud formations for our viewing pleasure.

WOW – In all of the trips we took around California for over ten years, we never happened on Joshua trees in bloom. Thanks for the photos of these beautiful trees in bloom.

Judie, I’m sorry that you were never able to see these in person as they are quite unique and impressive to come across in the middle of otherwise pretty stark terrain.

No, this was north of Joshua Tree National Park. We drove along Highway 178, not too far south of Lake Isabella.

Your amazing blog has taken me literally all over the world, to places I’ve never seen and sometimes never heard of — and with unique perspectives on those I have seen. I often read the same blog entry two or three times, so as to really absorb it.
