Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area

April 7th – BV Rec Area

Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area – Lake Webb

Since there were limited RV campgrounds in and near Carrizo Plain National Monument, we booked three nights just west of Bakersfield at the Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area.

Located right on the edge of one of two lakes at the Recreation Area, and offering up some trees for both shade and ambience, we were comfortable.

One of the best things about our RV trips, is how well we eat!

Getting ready to sit down for another excellent dinner together

Karen is an excellent cook, and often prepares numerous main dishes as well as some yummy side dishes before we hit the road. Dick and Tim can handle the BBQ grill, and somehow manage to whip up burgers, ribs or a mean breakfast.

I get off easy with planning and preparing appetizers for cocktail time before dinner.

I’m hesitant to give this location a two thumbs up. The campground itself was adequately maintained, but the restrooms were in bad need of some maintenance and repairs. Still it met our needs and allowed us to have a good time.

It does get extra brownie points for nighttime views across the lake…

GRATITUDE MOMENT: Today I am grateful that the campground views, sitting right along the lakes edge, were relaxing. The park is only lightly used this early in the springtime. I’m guessing that as the weather warms up, that both lakes see a great deal more traffic and that the park fills up.

  1. Having fun? I’d love to hear more about how you spent your time – you must have done something besides eating! Chatting? Touring? Napping? Knitting? Fishing?
