North Fork, Idaho ~ Building a Compound at Wagonhammer Campground

September 3 ~ North Fork, Idaho

North Fork, Idaho

It was a reasonable 140 mile drive on this day from Missoula, Montana back into Idaho. We planned for just one over-night in North Fork to break up the distance into easy bites.

At one point on our drive Tim decided to stop for a cup of coffee. I had to scratch my head about the dilemma, as they did not have a “walk-up” window at the “drive-thru” coffee kiosk. Since it would have been a challenge to go through in the RV (think about low overhangs) while towing a car (small turning radius), Tim parked in an empty lot and walked over.

The barista advised him that he would need to wait in line just as though he was in a car. I must admit I got a chuckle out of seeing him standing behind a car, but was thankful when he safely returned to the RV to enjoy a great cup of joe.

In line for coffee!

We chose Wagonhammer Campground for the one night.

It turned out to be a small campground, and we were able to create a nice compound by situating the two rigs with our doors facing each other. It reminded me of the hilarious time we had at Chewing Black Bones last summer with Dick and Karen. Click here to see that episode.

Such a nice way to share an evening with family

And don’t believe for an instant that we don’t eat well while out “camping”. Thank you Jan and Mark for the yummy fajitas!

So good!

Coming next: Sawtooth Mountains and Stanley, Idaho

GRATITUDE MOMENT: Today I am grateful that excellent drive-thru coffee kiosks are popping up all over the country – except in Southern California that is. I hope that we will see more of them down our way before long.

I’m still keeping an eye on you both and following your amazing journeys, BUT time is short and I have LOTS of writing to do:I Chair a group:Writers’ Ink, and write a column for the local Costa Blanca News (new Ezine ‘Ink Spots’ coming out shortly too AND am trying to write another novel before I fall off my perch..).Let me know if you come across a ‘clone arranger…’ Take care. Am with you in spirit. Hugs xx

Thank you for the belly laugh -first when I read about Tim being told to stand in line behind the car, and then seeing the picture. I’m still chuckling. I somehow think this could win a prize somewhere!!! It’s so nonsensical and reality at the same time.
    🤣😂🤣

The coffee lineup does make sense in a twisty and chuckle-worthy way! 😀

That is a rather funny picture especially because I thought it was illegal for people to walk through drive thru lanes!?! I guess it depends on the place!

    • I know that our local fast food places do not allow you to walk up to the drive thru window, but there you have the option of going inside. I know that it made Tim uncomfortable to stand in line behind a car but he REALLY wanted a cup of coffee 🙂
