Thursday, August 3rd ~ Central Oregon Coastline
Today we traveled from Bandon by the Sea to Newport, Oregon along Highway 101. Here are a few highlights from our day:
Coquille River Lighthouse ~ 1896
Oregon Dunes Recreation Area – Near Coos Bay
Sea Lion Cave ~ Florence, Oregon (The largest sea caves in the world). Unfortunately all of the sea lions were out looking for food and the cave was empty.
Cape Perpetua Scenic Area with Thor’s Well and Spouting Horn, and Devils Churn
GRATITUDE MOMENT: Today I am grateful for our police officers and firemen who continually put their lives on the line to protect us and our possessions. A most sincere THANK YOU for all you do.
We visited the Oregon Coast 2 years ago, it was a great trip. I love travel.

Many happy childhood memories… Sorry the sea lions weren’t in when you stopped by. Did it still stink to high heaven?

I had been warned about the smell, but was surprised when it smelled fine. Perhaps it had aired out since it was completely empty when we visited. Still enjoyed seeing the cave though.

I’m loving all of your photos from this trip (and am very envious!) The Oregon Coastline is one of my top U.S. destinations that I want to visit. I’ve got to get over there soon!

Oh how I hope you can get to Oregon, and sooner rather than later. There is sooooo much to enjoy here. We are just getting started exploring this beautiful state. Hoping to show off a few more places on our way back south later this month. Stay tuned!

The photo of the old harbour is stunning. I’m learning so much from your blog. Oregon looks and sounds like a lovely part of your vast country.

I’ve been enjoying your posts on your Oregon/Washington passage. It’s always a little more fun when I’ve actually seen a lot of the places folks write about.

I too like seeing pictures other people share from places we have seen, but I think I like even more looking at others pictures before hand which can give me ideas of pictures I might try to get myself.
